Vancouver based SR Auto recently got their hands on a stunning new Ferrari 458 Spider. The all-white Spider was fitted with Novitec lowering springs and a set of gloss black PUR LX02.V2 alloys staggered with 22 inch wheels in the rear and 21 inch wheels in the front. SR Auto then added in an Armytrix Valvetronic exhaust system that includes triple-blue exhaust tips.
Electro superstar Joel Zimmerman, better known to dance fans as Deadmau5, is selling his highly customized Ferrari 458 Spider on Craigslist. Affectionately named the Purrari, this Spider features a full-body wrap of the eight-bit Nyan Cat, pink brake calipers, prancing cat logos, A Purrari emblem and 6,500 miles on the odometer. The Purrari is currently located in Toronto, Canada, with an asking price of $380,000. Deadmau5 will donate any amount over that to the Toronto Humane Society.
Additional goodies added into the sale include an iPod full of “nyancat songs” and a meeting with Deadmau5 that will act as the official send off of the Purrari, conducted over a cup of coffee, of course. Free shipping is being offered to a buyer that is living anywhere in North America. If for some reason a buyer is interested in removing the Nyan Cat body wrap, Deadmau5 will accommodate this request.
Not long ago British sports car writer Jethro Bovingdon crashed a Ferrari FF into a low stone curb. So when we found out that Jethro had been invited by Chris Harris to drive a brand new Ferrari 458 Spider through the Stelvio Pass, a road that is well… basically lined with low stone walls, we felt it was appropriate to share. This video was shot for a new Car & Driver segment called the Car and Driver Abroad video series and marks Jethro Bovingdon’s first trip to the Stelvio Pass.
The Stelvio Pass has been referred to as the “World’s Greatest Road”, at over 9,000 feet high, it is one of the highest roads in Europe, and is responsible for connecting northern Italy to southern Switzerland. Not only does the altitude and location provide for amazing scenery, they help illustrate what makes this road so special, the curves. The Stelvio pass, constructed by the Austrians in 1820 consists of 48 hairpin turns covering over 16 miles of road that was built long before the creation of the automobile and lined with a beautiful, yet low stone wall that protects the driver from very steep drop-offs.
Novetic Rosso is a Dutch tuning house that specializes in upgrade packages for Ferrari owners. This time Novetic Rosso has focused their attention on the Ferrari 458 Spider. This package keeps the focus on aerodynamic parts with very little done to the upgrade of the engine. Engine upgrades do include a carbon fiber air box with modified air routing and a custom high-performance exhaust system manufactured by Inconel. This system features two high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and a new rear sport exhaust that releases an extra 39 hp by itself.
The aerodynamic upgrades for this Ferrari 458 Spider include carbon fiber parts designed in a wind tunnel at the University of Stuttgart. Novetic Rosso has fitted the 458 Spider with a new carbon fiber two-piece front spoiler with side flaps, a ventilation grill, exterior mirrors and side skirt matched to a rear spoiler. Additional pieces found on the Novetic Rosso 458 Spider include blacked –out tail lights, side markers and an auxiliary LED brake light along with carbon fiber air scoop wings. The Novetic Rosso 458 Spider sits on new 22” forged wheels matched with a hydraulic suspension system that can raise the car’s ride by 40mm or lower it by 35 mm.
Japanese tuning experts LB Performance, a subdivision of Liberty Walk, most famous for their Ferrari 458 widebody kit that debuted at SEMA 2013 are back with a new widebody kit for the Ferrari 458 Spider. Once again the Japanese tuners have focused on giving the 458 Spider an aggressive widebody look with exaggerated fenders and front scoop. The most extreme part of this makeover is the rear wing that also represents the most aerodynamic change made to this vehicle. Additional modifications include a stunning drop to the Spider’s already low ride-height and an impressive pair of deep concave multispoke alloys by SSR.
