458 Speciale

THE FERRARI 458 SPECIALE IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is a serious upgrade over the base model variant Ferrari 458 Italia, the Speciale has more power, styling and attitude. With this limited edition package, Ferrari didn’t just throw in some shinny new extras, they made an amazing supercar. The Ferrari 458 Speciale is faster around Ferrari’s Fiorano test track than the previous fleet flagship vehicle, the Enzo and the Ferrari 599 GTO by at least 1.5 seconds. Considering that the Ferrari 458 Speciale sits around $288,000 it is a much more affordable choice than the Ferrari 599 GTO or the Enzo. There is more than a possibility that the Ferrari 458 Speciale will turn out to be the last naturally aspirated V-8 supercar to be released by Ferrari. If this turns out to be the case than the Ferrari 458 Speciale will carry with it a very unique distinction that will definitely increase its value. Check out this video provided by EVO magazine as they take the Ferrari 458 Speciale out onto the track.

These advantages bring the total horsepower produced by this naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 to 636 hp with 422 lb-ft of torque and a new top speed of 205 mph. No word yet on what this upgrade kit for the Ferrari 458 Speciale will cost or how long these upgrades will take.

FERRARI 458 SPECIALE IS THE PINNICAL OF PERFECTION

458 Speciale, Ferrari,

As with all Ferrari special series, the 458 Speciale boasts an array of advanced technical solutions that make it a completely unique model designed for owners looking for an even more focused sports car offering extreme driving emotions. The innovations span the entire car and include both Ferrari patents and world firsts, particularly with regard to the engine, active aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics. In fact, they set the 458 Speciale apart from the 458 Italia from which it is derived, to an extent unprecedented in the previous Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia special series.

Whether on the road or on the track, drivers will feel immediately at one with the 458 Speciale thanks to the speed with which it responds to every input and the consequently natural control it offers, even in extreme maneuvers. This finely-tuned handling balance delivers an intense driving experience behind the wheel of Ferrari’s most high performance V8.

Ferrari drew heavily on its extensive F1 knowledge at the design, process and control stages, and the engine is produced in the factory’s in –house foundry using the same processes and machinery employed by the F1 team to deliver complex components with the necessary extreme structural and dimensional characteristics.

Optimized combustion chamber fluid-dynamics, new intake geometries, and a new cam profile are just some of the adjustments that allowed the designers to meet their targets. Other significant factors were the revision of various engine components: new materials for the pistons and the con-rod bushings, for example. The crankshaft geometry was also redesigned along with the intake system. This very special engine has an equally unique soundtrack that is seductive and uncompromising both inside and outside the car, thanks to the position of the tailpipes, the silencer configuration and a redesigned inlet tract.

2015 FERRARI 458 SPECIALE

458 Speciale, 458 Italia, Ferrari

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is a high-performance variant of the Ferrari 458 Italia. This version of the Italia includes several exterior upgrades that include a new set of performance wheels, a body kit and a larger front grille. The inside revisions are centered on reducing weight, this is achieved by removing several of the non-essential items from the cabin. The touring seats of the 458 Italia are replaced with carbon fiber racing seats covered in Alcantara, other luxury items such as plush upholstery and a radio are missing altogether giving the 458 Speciale a sense of track-only entitlement. Weight reduction on the Speciale makes this variant almost 500 pounds lighter than the Ferrari 458 Italia. The 458 Speciale packs an additional 34 horsepower under the hood making this 4.5-liter V8 capable of producing 596 hp! With all this attention being paid to performance, there is no surprise that the Ferrari 458 Speciale has already sold out for the 2015 model year.

FERRARI 458 COMPETITION BY RACING ONE

Ferrari, 458 Italia, Racing One

The Ferrari 458 Italia already runs great around the track, putting out over 570 horsepower backed by pure racing DNA. Even with the Italia having all this going for it, the street set up does have a number of limitations. The guys over at the Racing One tuner shop have resolved these issues with their Ferrari 458 Italia Competition.

The 4.5-liter V8 engine has been tweeked a bit to produce 620 horsepower, making the Ferrari 458 Competition more powerful than the new Ferrari 458 Speciale. The upgraded engine is combined with variable traction control and a seven-speed racing gearbox. Additional upgrades include a beefed up suspension from KW, new carbon ceramic disks that are fade-resistent and better areodynamics that stem from a carbon fiber body kit

FERRARI 458 SPECIALE ALREADY SOLD OUT FOR FIRST YEAR

458 Speciale,Ferrari,Ferrari 458Ferrari models tend to sell out quickly including those that are only offered in a limited production or pack a lot more horsepower than other models. Australia’s Motoring magazine is claiming that Ferrari has sold out the entire inventory of the new 458 Speciale.
For those who are new to this blog or have possibly been living under a rock, the 458 speciale is the 3rd fastest Ferrari to ever put in laps at the Fiorano test track. That makes the 458 Speciale faster than the 599 GTO and the Enzo. This mid-engine V8 takes its cue from the 360 Challenge Stradale and the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, the 458 Speciale is lighter, more powerful and more aerodynamically sound than the 458 Italia for which the 458 Speciale is based off of.
No official price has been given yet; our best guess is that the Ferrari 458 Speciale will be approximately $300,000.

FERRARI CONTINUES TO IMPROVE ON PERFECTION WITH THE 458 SPECIALE

Ferrari, 458 Italia, 458 Speciale
The design department at the prancing horse is committed to improving a brand that is already the pinnacle of perfection. This time Ferrari has focused their efforts on a special edition (hence the name Speciale) of the 458 Italia.
Improvements were made to the Speciale vs. the “conventional” model (like anything at Ferrari is conventional) by focusing on the three most important factors of a supercar: power, grip, and aerodynamics. Performance was added to this 4.5L V-8, raising the horsepower to 605, while keeping the torque steady at 398. This works out to be 133 horsepower per liter, making the 458 Speciale the highest-output naturally aspirated V-8 Ferrari ever made. The Speciale can launch from 0-60 in 3 seconds flat! Best-of-all, Ferrari says that even with improved performance, the 458 Speciale consumes less fuel than the 458 Italia.
Among the technological improvements that have increased the grip of the 458 Speciale, are changes to the algorithm of the Side Slip Angle Control system (SSC). This function’s purpose is to constantly analyze in real time, the vehicle’s lateral slip and compare it to the computer’s “ideal” values. This allows the SSC to split the torque between the rear wheels, enhancing the ability of the Speciale to take turns faster without sacrificing control. This is achieved through integration of the electronic differential and the vehicle’s traction control system.
Ferrari’s “advanced active aerodynamics” featured on the 458 Speciale include a noticeably larger heat extractor, a more chiseled lower grille and a more aggressive diffuser that sits just below the newly split exhaust. The purpose of the active aerodynamics is to improve downforce while reducing drag. Ferrari has stated that these advanced active aerodynamic features will become a standard feature on all future models.
The 458 Speciale is a variant of the 458 Italia that is available to be driven at Exotics Racing on a 1.2 mile road course. Exotics Racing now has two locations, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. FERRARI 458 SPECIALE GETS DRIVEN HARD

Ferrari announced earlier this year during the unveiling of the Ferrari 458 Speciale at the Frankfurt Motor Show that they believe the 458 Speciale to be “more fun than the Ferrari F40.” Even without seeing one in action, everyone from around the world was eager to see what the new 458 Speciale could do.
British racing magazine Autocar got the opportunity to take the Ferrari 458 Speciale out on the track. Steve Sutcliffe was the lucky man who got to find out if the Ferrari 458 Speciale lived up to all the hype. During the video, Steve makes specific reference to the upgraded gearbox that allows 44% faster downshifts. He is also very impressed with the LaFerrari-style brakes and the new traction control system that allows the driver the ability to slide without spinning.
The 458 Speciale includes the same 4.5-liter V-8 engine that is found in the stock 458 Italia; the engine has been tweaked to produce 596 horsepower and 398 lb-feet of torque. This results in the Ferrari 458 Speciale having 34 more horsepower that the standard 458 Italia, making the 458 Speciale the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 ever built by Ferrari. The 596 horsepower engine allows the 458 Speciale to achieve 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph.

Ferrari 458 Speciale Debuts in the U.K.

Ferrari 458 Speciale DebutThe Ferrari 458 Speciale debuted last month at the Frankfurt Motor Show to a crowd of thousands. The U.K. release was incredibly different; only 100 hand-picked Ferrari customers were invited to the unveiling of the Ferrari 458 Speciale at a private event hosted by the Carrs Ferrari and Maserati in Exeter, Devon.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is essentially a beefed up Ferrari 458 Italia. Improvements were made to the Speciale vs. the “conventional” 458 model (like anything at Ferrari is conventional) by focusing on the three most important factors of a supercar: power, grip, and aerodynamics. Performance was added to this 4.5L V-8, raising the horsepower to 605, while keeping the torque steady at 398.
