FERRARI 458 MONTE CARLO CARBON EDITION BY DMC

DMC, Monte Carlo Carbon, Ferrari, 458 Italia

For those out there that own a Ferrari 458 Italia and want the look of a Ferrari 458 Speciale without having to go out and spend several hundred thousands more on a Speciale can achieve the look of the upgraded supercar at a fraction of the price. German tuning house DMC has released the Monte Carlo Carbon Edition. This upgrade kit features carbon fiber body parts such as the front bumper winglets, side skirt blades and fender vents. The visual impact is exaggerated by blacked out headlights and racing stripes down the middle of the car.

The installation kit is non-intrusive since DMC’s aftermarket components are designed to fit onto factory mounting points. For a little extra cash, DMC will swap out the wheels on the 458 for the 21-inch front and 22-inch rear stance that is found on the Ferrari 458 Speciale.

One downside to this setup is that all the upgrades are cosmetic with nothing being done to boost the horsepower of the donor car. So while the real deal 458 Speciale puts down 605hp, the DMC Monte Carlo Carbon continues to deliver a still respectable 570hp.

ENZO FERRARI MOVIE NOW IN THE WORKS?

Enzo Ferrari, Ferrari, Al Pacino

Hollywood has tried before to create a movie based off of the life of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari. Back in 2004, director Sydney Pollack and Academy Award winning actor Al Pacino were preparing a Enzo Ferrari biopic, based off Brock Yate’s 1991 book, “Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races.” Unfortunately, Pollack died before production could start and the project was eventually scrapped.

Ten years later, movie magazine Variety reports that Cecchi Gori pictures has entered into advanced talks with a currently unnamed American director who is rumored to be very passionate about the idea of creating a film about Enzo. The script itself has been around for quite some time and was written by Troy Kenedy Martin (“The Italian Job”) and David Rayfield (“Out of Africa”). The production company is currently scouting out locations to shoot the film, revising the script and looking for a distributor.

Cecchi Gori CEO Niels Juul had this to say about the script, “It’s a beautiful tale of the story of Ferrari battling with Maserati for supremacy in speed, yet it’s not a racing movie: it’s a ‘Godfather’ movie with racing in it.”

JAY KAY FROM JAMIROQUAI BUYS LAFERRARI

Ferrari, LaFerrari, Jamiroquai, Jay Kay

Jamiroquai front man and bona fide Ferrari nut Jay Kay has built a rather impressive collection of Ferraris over the years to include a special one-off 330GT Vignale, F40, Enzo, 275 GTB/4, two Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinettas, 250 GTE, 550 Maranello and a 16M Scuderia. Jay Kay can now add the newest flagship vehicle to come out of Maranello to his list of amazing supercars as it has been confirmed that Jay Kay has purchased a LaFerrari in a very rare green color. This purchase represents the third new Ferrari he has purchased this year and the sixth Ferrari he has purchased in the last four years! All together the British acid jazz star owns over 60 cars and has no plans on slowing down any time soon.

Jay Kay has always had a love for cars, especially sports cars. His love of cars was expressed with the release of the album Traveling Without Moving. The album’s cover featured an adaptation of the “Buffalo Man” logo and the Ferrari crest. In 2011 he visited Maranello for an exclusive viewing of the then-new Ferrari 458 Spider. Three of his cars appeared in the video for the song Cosmic Girl.

FERRARI ENZO PERFORMS CRAZY DONUTS DURING HYPERMAX FESTIVAL

The 2014 Vmax200 Hypermax Festival of Speed brought out some of the world’s best supercars for a day-long event full of racing and high-speed demonstrations. Shmee was on hand to capture the event’s festivities. Here is a video from Shmee 150 as he rides shotgun in a Ferrari Enzo during a donut demonstration on a British airfield with speeds reaching 195 mph on the runway. Enjoy.

Ferrari, F430 Scuderia, Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is known for his extravagant lifestyle, especially when it comes to cars. The unbeaten five-division world champion has car collections in cities covering Las Vegas to Miami. Now one of “Money” Mayweather’s favorite cars, his white Ferrari F430 Scuderia is now up for sale with Eurocar for $209,888. FERRARI SP FFX

Ferrari, Ferrari FF, Special Projects, SP FFX

The Special Projects division of Ferrari has been at it again, this time with the Ferrari SP FXX. The SP definitely stands for Special Projects and the FF reflects that the original car used for the Build is the 6.3-liter V-12, 651 horsepower Ferrari FF. As far as the X goes, we are not quite sure what the X stands for. What we do know is that the Ferrari SP FFX is a delightful one-off that leaves everything under the hood unchanged. All aspects of this build are purely cosmetic and designed to accomplish a more aggressive appearance while improving aerodynamic efficiency.

The first thing that the Ferrari Special Projects team did was remove the hatch and rear seats of the FF as requested by the unnamed Japanese client that commissioned the build. Next the Ferrari SP FXX was given a Rosso Corsa paint job matched to a black roof with several Pearl White components to include side pillars, side sills, mirrors, rear spoiler and rims. In addition, both the front and rear fenders are adorned with trademark Ferrari gills that have been seen on most of Ferrari’s current models.

FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA “N-LARGO” BY NOVITEC-ROSSO

Ferrari, F12 Berlinetta, Novitec-Rosso, N-Largo

Novitec-Rosso recently displayed a matte grey Ferrari F12 Berlinetta on the streets of Dubai. Officially called the “N-Largo”, this performance kit adds a style to the Berlinetta that is pure aggression. The original front fenders have been replaced with a wide-body variant that adds an additional six centimeters to the width of the Berlinetta. Additional aerodynamic needs are taken care of with a large rear airfoil that creates additional downforce at high speeds. All aspects of the body conversion kit are manufactured from carbon fiber components. These carbon fiber components create amazing strength while being incredibly lightweight.

The Novitec-Rosso N-Largo has been outfitted with a custom-made three-piece Novitec-Rosso NF5 NL forged wheels that are 21 inches in the front and 22 inches in the rear. A remapped engine management system brings the total power output to a very respectful 781 horsepower. The final touches to the N-Largo include a Novitec-Rosso high-Performance quad exhaust that comes equipped with a butterfly valve that ensures exhaust emissions with low back pressure.

2014 FERRARI LAFERRARI “LAQUATTRO”

Ferrari, LaFerrari, DMC, LaQuattro

German tuning company DMC recognized how the world immediately fell in love with the LaFerrari and quickly went to work creating a rendering that reflects the unique style of DMC. DMC took to Facebook to release a concept rendering of the LaFerrari that they have named the “LaQuattro.”

As impressive as this rendering is, the biggest challenge towards making this project real is finding one of the 499 owners that paid over a million dollars to purchase the LaFerrari that would be willing to see their car go through such a transformation. Given the reputation of DMC as one of the best supercar tuning companies on the planet, we expect that someone will be willing to offer up a LaFerrari donor car for this special project.

LAFERRARI ADDED TO MARANELLO MUSEUM

LaFerrari, Ferrari, Maranello Museum

The newest superstar from Ferrari has finally arrived at the carmakers official museum in Maranello, Italy. The Ferrari LaFerrari made its debut to the world last year during an official unveiling at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Only 499 units will be sold to the public with this being the 500th unit that is on display. All 499 units of the LaFerrari were sold before the first unit was delivered. Those that were lucky enough to purchase the successor of the Enzo shelled out a hefty amount of money to do so. The average sale for a LaFerrari in the United States was 1.7 million USD. Even with such a steep price tag, Ferrari had over 1,000 customers competing for the 499 available units.

The LaFerrari is powered by a 6.2-liter V-12 engine capable of producing 800 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The internal combustion engine is paired with an electric motor capable of producing 163 Horsepower for a total power out of 963 hp. The LaFerrari sprints from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.

FERRARI UNVIELS THE NEW CALIFORNIA DREAMING EXHIBITION

Ferrari, California T,

The five-gallery year-long “California Dreaming” exhibition is now open at the Museo Ferrari Maranello in Italy. This exhibit is part of a one million dollar redevelopment program designed by Ferrari SpA to better welcome visitors to the Ferrari museum. Last year Ferrari welcomed 320,000 visitors from around the world, making the Ferrari museum one of the top museums in Italy. On hand for the opening ceremony of the exhibit were Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo and the mayor of Maranello, Lucia Bursi.

The “California Dreaming” exhibit was designed to help promote the new Ferrari California T and to celebrate the rich and vibrant history that Ferrari has with California. The exhibit features historic artifacts, photographs and significant Ferraris that played a part in Ferrari racing in California. The exhibit included Ferraris from Hollywood movies, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Laguna Seca and Pebble beach.

LAFERRARI: BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEO

Ferrari has released a LaFerrari premier video made by Ferrari’s hired videographer and photographers. This video teaser clip gives us a good look at the Prancing Horse’s newest flagship supercar. Unlike the first video teaser to come out from Ferrari, this clip gives us a much better idea as to what the LaFerrari sounds like and how it will look on the road.

In addition to displaying the enjoyable exhaust note of the LaFerrari, this video gives us a look at the LaFerrari with the engine bay uncovered, displaying the powerful 6.3-liter V-12 engine that lies within. This view definitely demonstrates that the LaFerrari is the fastest and most powerful road car ever launched out of Maranello.

With 950 horsepower and more than 660 pound-feet of torque delivered by a Formula One inspired V-12 hybrid drivetrain, the LaFerrari will accelerate from 0-60mph in under 3.0 seconds, reach 186mph in 15 seconds before arriving at a top speed of 217mph.

LAFERRARI EVOXX RENDERED

Ferrari, LaFerrari, Evoxx

Now that the LaFerrari has been unveiled and orders are beginning to ship to those who were lucky enough to get their hands on Ferrari’s first hybrid, people are beginning to speculate what a track version would look like. Such as with the Enzo that spawned the FXX Evoluzione, and the 599XX that followed, fans are eagerly anticipating what Ferrari plans to do next. Milano-based designer Luca Polizzotto has created a rendering of what he believes that a track version would eventually look like.

Polizzotto has named his rendering the LaFerrari EVOXX, this track hybrid features some subtle aerodynamic improvements along with white trim added to the hood and side panels. The EVOXX also features a pair of rear wings attached to the engine cover along with a carbon fiber front lip. Yes, this is just a rendering with no guarantee that Ferrari would take it cues from the EVOXX. Should they decide to create a track version of the hybrid, we would expect it to look something like this.

MICHAEL SCHUMACHER AWAKES FROM COMA

Michael Schumacher, Ferrari, Formula One

Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has been transferred from the hospital in Grenoble, France, where he has been since his skiing accident last year to a recovery ward at the University Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“Michael has left…to continue his long phase of rehabilitation,” according to his manager Sabine Kehm.

As in previous statements, Schumacher’s agent asked for the media and fans to respect the privacy of Schumacher and his family as they continue forward with his recovery.

“The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes,” Kehm said. “We are sure it helped him. For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.”

The seven-time Formula One world champion is an avid and experienced skier who suffered severe head trauma as a result of a skiing accident at the French Alps resort of Meribel on December 29. Investigators believe that Schumacher struck a rock that was hidden below the snow while traversing an area between two pistes, which catapulted him face first into another rock.

In early January, a French prosecutor tasked with investigating the accident concluded that speed was not a reason for Schumacher’s fall.

FERRARI 458 VS LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR IN FLAME SPITTING BATTLE

Who doesn’t just love a good flame battle? In this matchup we have a black Ferrari 458 and a yellow Lamborghini Aventador that is displaying Qatari license plates, they appear to be on a abandoned highway. FERRARI 625/250 TRC: THE FIRST FERRARI HOTROD

This little racer has the distinction of running over 50 races and winning half of them, making this the winningest Ferrari ever. The story starts in 1957, when a guy by the name of John von Neumann, an accomplished race car driver on the California coast, ordered a 250TR V12 Ferrari engine. His goal was to put this engine inside the engine bay of a Ferrari TRC. This was more than tricky due to the fact that the engine bay was originally designed to fit a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. He enlisted the help to fellow race car driver and technical wizard, Richie Ginther, the two of them created the first and only TRC with a factory V12 and by doing so created the first Ferrari hot rod.

Extreme Motorsports is out to break that record, this time using a Ferrari 458 Challenge Race Car.

FERRARI F40 GETS DRIVEN AGGRESSIVELY

F40 Driven Agressively

There are many reasons why those who are lucky enough to own a Ferrari F40 choose to pamper their supercar versus subjecting Enzo Ferrari’s final legacy to all the punishment and potential hazards that come with performing elaborate burnouts and drag racing. For starters, only 1,315 units were produced making those that have survived extremely valuable. Expect to pay well over $1 million to own one today. This sort of rarity matched with such a large price tag is more likely to cause owners of these fine machines to be extremely careful and fearful that something bad could happen.

Such is not the case for this beautiful yellow Ferrari F40 that was recently scene doing doughnuts after drag racing against a white Porsche 911 Turbo. Hats-off to all the Ferrari owners out there that aren’t afraid to get their limited-edition million dollar supercars a little dirty.
